history

The place was first mentioned as "Dalenvelt" (= field of the Talo) in a document from the year 1121/22. In it, the previous owner is given as "Quadrilcus Walpoto". The Walpots were a great, powerful noble family that had its heyday around the year 1000. This document is about the donation of "Altenholevelt", a valley near Schönfeld, to Bishop Otto I. In addition to the Altenholevelt estate, Bishop Otto I also received the Trumsdorf estate and the farms in Tannfeld. The deed also states: Quadrilcus Walpoto had fallen from grace through his fault and died soon afterwards. Because he did not receive the funeral because of the excommunication, his brother Adeloid offered the bishop the "Altenholevelt". The community website writes: "That this is the current Althollfeld valley or Erlbachtal seems to be certain, because it forms a unit with Trumsdorf and Tannfeld." Half of the tithe of Tannfeld was owned by von Streitberg , then half von Stauffenberg as an imperial fiefdom.

At the end of the 18th century Tannfeld consisted of 37 properties. The high court was exercised by the Bavarian Bailiwick of Wonsees . The village and township government had the box office Sanspareil held. Were landlords

In administration and jurisdiction, it was subject to the Hollfeld Regional Court and in financial administration to the Bayreuth Rent Office . In 1852 it was transferred to the Thurnau Regional Court and in 1856 to the Thurnau Rent Office ( renamed the Thurnau Tax Office in 1919 ).
