Forstleithen is a district of the Thurnau market in the Kulmbach district .

geography

The hamlet lies on the edge of a high plateau that slopes down towards the east. In the west, Forstleithen is surrounded by arable land and grassland, in the east the Limmersdorfer Forst borders. The three source streams of the Markgrafenbrunnenbach, a left tributary of the Reuthbach, arise here . A community road leads to Limmersdorf to the KU 17 district road (0.7 km to the west).

history

Forstleithen was first mentioned in a document in 1572, even then in the same spelling. The basic word is līte ( mhd. For slope), the defining word is forest. The original field name corresponds to the geographical conditions. In 1713 a small part of the Limmersdorfer Forest was reclaimed and the parcels thus created were assigned to 5 Sölden estates .

At the end of the 18th century, Forstleithen consisted of 7 properties. The high court as well as the village and community rulership was held by the Bavarian Vogteiamt Kasendorf . The landlords were the box office Kulmbach (1 inn, 5 Sölden) and the Oberforstmeisterei Kulmbach-Oberpreuschwitz (1 forester's house).

From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Sanspareil . With the municipal edict of 1812, Forstleithen was assigned to the Limmersdorf tax district . With the second community edict (1818) the provisional rural community Forstleithen was formed, to which the places Buchhaus and Neuwirthshaus belonged. In 1819 this was incorporated into the rural community of Kasendorf , and finally in 1856 into the rural community of Limmersdorf. On May 1, 1978, this was incorporated into the Thurnau market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
