Neidsmühle (colloquially: Naidsmühl ) is a district of the Thurnau market in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Aubach . The wooded hill Schützenholz borders in the east, the height ( 387  m above sea level ) is in the west . There is a conifer there that has been designated a natural monument . A residential path leads to Todtenhaus on Staatsstraße 2689 (= Kulmbacher Straße).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in the interest book of Förtsch von Thurnau from 1526 as "Neidmuele". The meaning of the place name is unclear. It may have been named that way because of a legal battle. Comparable names are known ( e.g. Rügland , Streitberg, Haderwald).

Towards the end of the 18th century there was an estate in Neidsmühle. The High Court as well as the basic rule exercised the Giech'sche Office Thurnau from.

From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the patrimonial court of Thurnau . With the community edict, Neidsmühle was assigned to the tax district of Thurnau in 1811 and to the municipal community of Thurnau in 1818.
