Friesen is a district of the Thurnau market in the Upper Franconian district of Kulmbach .

geography

The hamlet forms a closed settlement with Thurnau and has now merged into Friesenstraße. This leads north-east to Oberen Markt (= Kreisstrasse KU 28 ) or north-west into Schorrmühlestrasse, which leads to Berndorfer Strasse (= state road 2689 ). Friesen is located on the Breitenwieser Graben, which flows a little further west as a right tributary into the Aubach .

The place was founded after 1925 in the municipality of Thurnau and was initially called "Milzau".
