Due to the influx of displaced persons after the Second World War , the proportion of Catholics in the formerly almost exclusively Protestant community grew, so that in 1967 it was decided to build a Catholic church as a subsidiary church in Oberrodach. The foundation stone was laid in 1969, on September 20, 1970 the Church of the Holy Cross was consecrated.
