The Society for Family Research in Franconia e. V. (GFF) is a genealogical association for Franconia founded on November 8, 1921 , with its seat in Nuremberg .

The non-profit association is a member of the German Working Group on Genealogical Associations (DAGV) , the Association for Computer Genealogy , the Association of Bavarian History Associations and the General Association of German History and Antiquity Associations . The GFF has set itself the task of promoting and maintaining family research "in all of its branches on a scientific basis", with a particular focus on the areas of Middle Franconia , Upper Franconia and Lower Franconia as well as neighboring areas of Upper Palatinate (all in Northern Bavaria ) and Tauber Franconia ( in Baden-Württemberg ).
