Marga Beckstein

Marga Beckstein (* 1945 in Nuremberg as Marga Weber ) is a German author of educational literature. She is the spouse of the former Bavarian Prime Minister Günther Beckstein .

Career

Beckstein grew up in Nuremberg and was confirmed in the Gustav-Adolf-Kirche Lichtenhof. After attending grammar school, she studied at the Nuremberg University of Education for teaching at elementary schools. After many years as a teacher, she trained as a seminar rector as a trainee teacher for elementary school teachers until she retired.

Her close ties to the Evangelical Lutheran Church led her to work in congregations alongside her professional career. Immediately after the confirmation, she worked in youth work, held children's services and organized the youth group. In the church council of the Paul Gerhardt congregation in Nuremberg , she met the lawyer Günther Beckstein, whom she married in 1973. The marriage had three children.
