Margaret ( Japanese マ ー ガ レ ッ ト , Māgaretto ) is a Japanese Shōjo - Manga magazine of the Shueisha publishing house, which has been published since 1963. Until 1988 the magazine appeared weekly, since then every two weeks on the 5th and 20th of a month. In 2009 the magazine had a sold circulation of over 112,000 copies, in 2010 this number fell to 95,000.

From the 1960s onwards, the magazine organized competitions that helped to establish more and more female mangaka in the shōjo manga, which was previously dominated by men. So later published in the magazine also important illustrators of the genre, such as Kyōko Ariyoshi , Riyoko Ikeda and Minami Ozaki .
