Margareta Pogonat
Margareta Pogonat-Caliopi (born March 6, 1933 in Iași ; † May 11, 2014 ) was a Romanian actress .
Life
Margareta Pogonat was the daughter of a lawyer who died on the front lines during World War II , and an actress. Her parents were not married, but her father recognized her as a biological child. In 1959 she completed her acting studies at the National University of Theater and Film Arts "Ion Luca Caragiale" . Then she played in several theaters. She made her screen debut in 1957 in the drama If you love me, directed by Dinu Negreanu . From 1990 she taught drama at both the Spiru Haret University and the Universitatea Ecologică din București . Pogonat died on May 11, 2014 of complications from cancer.
