Margarete Sachse

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Margarete Sachse (* May 24, 1897 ; † after 1944) was a German actress on stage and in film.

Live and act

In the Weimar Republic, Margarete Sachse first played theater in the provinces (most recently in Magdeburg) before she came to Berlin in 1928 and also appeared in front of the camera towards the end of the silent film era. Up until 1945 there were no more stage festival engagements; instead, Margarete Sachse took part in numerous films with small roles. Mostly she subscribed to loyal German petty bourgeois women and sometimes played a secretary, then a teacher, a neighbor, a cloakroom, a prompter or an office manager. At the end of the war, Margarete Sachse disappeared from view; Neither film roles nor permanent engagements at the theater with her can be determined for the period after 1945.
