action

Jonny Burck is a sportsman through and through and, moreover, is in debt up to his ears. The only thing he has left is his noble racehorse "Europa". So that it does not end up in the hands of the believers, he keeps the beautiful animal well hidden in a small stable. At night he secretly trains “Europe” in order to prepare the Zossen for a major event with which Jonny also wants to escape his financial misery: the Nice Grand Prix. Only the loyal Jockey Monk and Jonny's German shepherd Greif remained at Jonny's side.

But Jonny has a powerful opponent, the Dievenak Group, a global company that is also active in the highly profitable racing shift business. These people absolutely want to prevent "Europe" from being used at the Grand Prix and numerous small bettors making profits. The pushers plan no less than to remove the horse, which Jonny hears about. He tries to pull his horse out of the field of fire and plans to sell it to the lovely and trustworthy American Ursel Matting or her father. But that doesn't happen anymore, “Europe” is first collected and seized at Dievenak's instigation. At the following auction, Ursel can still bid for “Europe”.

"Europe" is now being stolen several times and then stolen back again, and the gang of smugglers does not shy away from a devious assassination attempt, to which, however, a similar-looking horse falls victim. First, Jonny makes long fingers so that the racehorse is protected from further attacks by his opponents. Dievenak's people, however, find out the whereabouts of "Europe", a ruin in southern France. Jockey Monk is on guard there. However, the thin man is ambushed and left tied up. The horse is gone for now. Ursel is disappointed with Jonny's involvement in all these charades and temporarily turns away from the rider. Jonny is now following in the footsteps of the horse thieves and can bring the expensive horse into his power again. This time he is very careful and can even bring the horse to Nice unnoticed. Here he starts the race with “Europe” and even clinches victory. At the end there is a reconciliation with Ursel, and the two horse lovers finally find each other.

The captivating scenery of the Riviera, the attractive milieu and an ensemble of excellent actors make the film a work that will be a success with all cinema-goers. "

In the lexicon of international films it says: “The rumor-like entanglements are played out with relish; a very entertaining (trivial) film, tailored to the main actor. "
