Reviews

Film service : "Circus film by and with Harry Piel, in the framework of the action, good acrobatics and dressage performances."

Press release ZDF : "Mixture of a big ring show and melodrama, with lots of animal training and artistic sensations."

Karlheinz Wendtland praised in Geliebter Kintopp (2nd edition 1988) above all the training of six chimpanzees and the trapeze act, but criticized Harry Piel's self-staging:

“Nobody can stop him from portraying himself as the greatest because he is his own director who lets himself get away with too much. This is especially embarrassing to women, as he considers himself irresistible. "

The Evangelical movie watchers took almost 30 years after the creation of the work the following conclusion: "German circus film from 1938, which, stuntmen 'Harry Piel offers plenty of opportunity for daring shows of strength. A sappy love story proves that Piel knew how to deal better with animals than with women. Harmless memory of a handful of half-forgotten film actors. "(Review No. 380/1967)
