Michael von Newlinski (actor)

Michael Franz Karl Ritter von Newlinski , also Michael von Newlinsky (born June 21, 1891 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary , † August 14, 1964 in West Berlin ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

After graduating from high school, the son of a journalist was initially employed in a chemical factory. From 1914 he took part in the First World War for four years. Last lieutenant in the reserve, he began his artistic career after the war as a dancer and acrobat in variety shows .

At the age of 36 he got his first film role. Until the end of the Second World War he was in front of the camera in numerous, mostly rather small supporting roles in German film. After the war, he mainly worked for the radio at RIAS and NWDR and as an emcee .
