action

The rich Olaf Peer suffers from notorious insomnia. In his basement he had an armored vault built in that doubles as a bedroom. In order to finally be able to sleep, he takes the help of a certain Dr. Castell, who has developed a method by means of magnetism to finally get sleep-disturbed people to sleep. In May 1900 there is a serious fire in which the house is completely destroyed. Since then, Olaf Peer has been considered missing.

Exactly a hundred years later. Professor Mikett wants to build a laboratory on the exact spot where Peer's house once stood. During the construction work, the workers discover the buried armored vault in which Peer lies as if deeply asleep. The professor manages to get Peer back among the living. He is more than astonished at the progress the world has made over the past 100 years. Peer falls in love with Melya, the professor's daughter. This causes the jealousy of Prof. Mikett's assistant, Maston, who kills Olaf Peer with the so-called Mars rays developed by the professor.
