The big bet is a 1915 German science fiction silent film by Harry Piel .

action

In the distant future, in 2000: The athlete George Fogg and the physicist Ardan are two wealthy Americans who like to be in their club. Both are united by their love for the pretty millionaire daughter Lee Kennedy. One day they make a bizarre bet: Ardan is supposed to construct a robot in the next two weeks, which he claims that Fogg will not be able to endure three days and nights with this being.

Ardan actually creates this artificial being and directs it with a camera obscura remote control directly in Fogg's house. The electrician now follows Fogg every step of the way, and Fogg does not get his rest even during a rendezvous with Lee. When the third day dawned, the robot problem took care of itself, because because of the voltage that Ardan had set too high, the artificial being's wires burned and an explosion occurred, causing Ardan's house to crash down on him.
