Margem Sul do Tejo

Margem Sul , which means "south bank" in Portuguese, popularly refers to the region south of the Tejo confluence with the Atlantic Ocean , which is also known as Mar da Palha because of its slight extension , and on the opposite northern bank of which is Lisbon .

The cities of Almada , Seixal , Barreiro , Moita , Montijo and Alcochete belong to the "south bank" .
