Margit Fleckenstein

Margit Fleckenstein (born November 25, 1940 in Mannheim ) is a German lawyer and sworn auditor . From 1996 to October 2014 she was president of the regional synod of the Evangelical Church in Baden .

Live and act

Margit Fleckenstein spent her youth in Mannheim, where she also attended a humanistic grammar school. After studying in Heidelberg, doing a legal traineeship and doing research at the chair for civil and labor law at the University of Mannheim , she passed the second state examination in 1968. In the same year she founded a law firm in Ludwigshafen am Rhein specializing in civil and commercial law.

Margit Fleckenstein is the chairwoman of the examination board of the Zweibrücken Bar Association and is involved in the training of legal clerks.

In October 1996 she was elected as the first woman to head the Evangelical State Synod in Baden and was confirmed for a second term until 2014 with 92% of the votes. She was also a member of the EKD Synod and from 1997 to 2009 a member of the Council of the Evangelical Church in Germany .
