São Paio do Mondego is a locality and former municipality in Portugal . Until 1985 it was called São Paio de Farinha Podre .

São Paio do Mondego was a community ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Penacova . On June 30, 2011 the community had 215 inhabitants on an area of 9.8 km².

As part of the municipal reorganization of Portugal on September 29, 2013, the municipality of São Paio de Mondego was merged with São Pedro de Alva to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de São Pedro de Alva e São Paio de Mondego . The seat of the new municipality was São Pedro de Alva.
