Margit Paar (2014)

Margit Paar (born February 6, 1970 ), now Margit Dengler-Paar, is a former German luge athlete . Her greatest sporting successes include the title of Vice European Champion in the team, the overall Junior World Cup victory and the bronze medal at the World Youth Championship .

Margit Paar grew up in Schönau am Königssee and attended the CJD Christophorus Schools in Berchtesgaden . She is married and has a daughter. After completing her active sports career, she worked for the spa management of the Berchtesgadener Land tourist association. Today she works in the media mainly for toboggan associations, including as press officer for the bobsleigh and sledge association for Germany .

Couple started for WSV Königssee . In 1989 she was third in the Junior World Championship and in the same year she won the overall World Cup victory in the Junior World Cup. In 1990 she was able to win the team runner-up at the European Championships. She ended her active sports career in the early 1990s due to the great pressure of competition at the national level after German reunification .
