Margit Pfatschbacher (born February 18, 1960 ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and retail saleswoman. Pfatschbacher was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from 2004 to 2013 .

Life

After completing compulsory school, Pfatschbacher learned the trade of textile retailer from 1975 to 1978. In 1978 she passed the business assistant examination and switched to the company Interspar - Saalfelden in 1980 . In 1998 she was elected to the works council and chairman of the works council, and in 1999 she was promoted to head of department. After being elected to the central works council in 2000, Pfatschbacher became a functionary in the trade union for private employees in 2002 and a chamber councilor in the Salzburg Chamber of Labor in 2003.

Pfatschbacher was elected to the municipal council of the city of Saalfelden in 2004 and was a member of the Salzburg state parliament from April 28, 2004. Pfatschbacher got into the state parliament because numerous SPÖ candidates had renounced the mandate after the election. Pfatschbacher was area spokeswoman for youth and family in the SPÖ state parliament club and in 2009 took over the function of area spokeswoman for childcare, generations and family as well as consumer protection.

Pfatschbacher has been married since 1980 and has a son (* 1982).
