Margret Erichsen-Worch

Margret Erichsen-Worch , née Erichsen (born July 27, 1934 in Neumünster , † October 15, 2006 in Bad Säckingen ) was a German sculptor .

Margret Erichsen grew up in Bordesholm . In 1956 she married the Bordesholm teacher Jürgen Worch; she had four children with him. For professional reasons of the husband, the family moved to Mol / Belgium in 1964, where Margret Erichsen-Worch began studying sculpture at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in 1969 , which she completed in 1974 with the first degree. Since 1975 she was a member of the Federal Association of Visual Artists, Schleswig-Holstein section. After briefly returning to Schleswig-Holstein, she continued her studies in Mol in 1978 and finished it after six years with a second diploma. In 1986/87 she received additional training in plastic portrait art in Antwerp.

In 1999 she returned to Schleswig-Holstein. In 2000 she donated her life's work to the Bordesholmer Land eV (KVBL) culture and beautification association for permanent presentation. The artist's works can be seen as a permanent exhibition at the Bordesholm Administration Academy. In 2006 Margret Erichsen-Worch was awarded the KVBL Culture Prize. The artist no longer experiences the handover. She died on October 15, 2006.

With her teacher, the Belgian sculptor Bertha Saveniers, Margret Erichsen-Worch remained closely connected to the end of her life. In 40 exhibitions a. a. Her works were presented in Germany, France, Spain and Belgium.

Margret Erichsen-Worch said about her works:

In my work, I try to reproduce the “inner man”, the “invisible” in plastic form. The PEOPLE AMONG PEOPLE is a special concern in my sculptural field of work. My style changes between abstract and figurative. The formal language in which a sculptural work is carried out depends on the task.

Erichsen-Worch's preferred material was stone (granite, marble, sandstone). But clay, wax and plaster were also her working materials for bronze, aluminum and stone casting.
