Margret Gottschlich (born December 20, 1948 in Herten ) is a German politician ( SPD ). Between 2005 and 2012 she was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Life

Gottschlich graduated from elementary school in 1963 and then completed an apprenticeship as a milliner by 1966 . From 1966 to 1969 she worked in her profession in the textile industry. She then spent a year in London from 1969 to 1970. After her return, she worked in the warehouse administration from 1971 to 1974 and was also a member of the works council.

Gottschlich has been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1981 to 1990 she was chairman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (AsF) in the local association Herten-Langenbochum of the SPD. Since 1989 she has been deputy chairwoman of the SPD city association in Herten. From 1991 to 2001 she was chairwoman of the Herten-Langenbochum local association and from 1989 to 2005 a member of the Herten city council. In Herten she was deputy mayor from 1999 to 2005. From June 8, 2005, Gottschlich was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, where she was a full member of the Committee for Women's Policy, the Committee for Environment and Nature Conservation, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and the Committee for Building and Transport. Before the state elections in 2012, she was unable to prevail within the party against Carsten Löcker , who followed her as the directly elected MP for Marl and Herten. Gottschlich thus resigned from the NRW state parliament.
