Assumption Church (Neunkirchen)
The parish church of the Assumption of Mary is a Roman Catholic church in the center of Neunkirchen in Lower Austria . The church is structurally connected to the early baroque Minorite monastery . The church is a listed building .
history
The parish is accepted before 1050. With a document from 1094 the parish and the church belong to the Bavarian Benedictine monastery Formbach . From the first half of the 12th century until 1782, the parish and church belonged to the Archdiocese of Salzburg and since 1785 to the Archdiocese of Vienna . At the beginning of the 16th century the parish became a feudal parish for the sovereign. In 1591 the parish went to Ludwig von Hoyos as patronage , who committed himself and his descendants to occupy the parish and the associated benefit with Catholic priests. In 1631 the parish was incorporated into the newly founded Minorite Monastery, founded by Hans Balthasar von Hoyos.
Church of the Assumption of Mary
The core Romanesque and late Romanesque church with a former pair of towers, the northern tower was demolished, was redesigned several times in the late Gothic style with a nave division and vault, and changed in the Baroque style and supplemented with additions.
The chime consists of four bells from the Pfundner bell foundry from 1951. In the tower lantern there is also a small bell from 1907.
Poor souls chapel
The chapel is a foundation of Neunkirchen councilor Sebastian Eder from 1733 and was attached to the south aisle of the parish church.
