The Roman Catholic chapel Maria-Hilf is located in Boos in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building.

history

The chapel is located in a castle stable and is now a war memorial chapel. The chapel was probably built in 1627 by order of Hans Fugger. From 1649 to 1662 the chapel served as a hermitage for Johann Erhard Vöhlin.

Building description and interior fittings

The chapel is a small building with groined vaults and a semicircular end. The altar of the chapel shows a copy of the Maria-Hilf picture from Innsbruck by Lucas Cranach the Elder. Ä. The picture is labeled 1674, the altar dates from around 1720/1730. In the chapel there is a Mother of God from 1500 and the figure of St. Sebastian from 1650. The light-colored frescoes in the chapel from 1767 by Viktorian Denzel show the Virgin Mary with St. Christophorus and St. Walburga. The Adoration of the Shepherds and Our Lady with angels are also depicted. In the spandrels are scenes from the life of St. Francis depicted.
