Maria Brüning ( March 30, 1869 at Gut Falkenhusen near Lübeck - after 1905) was a German opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Brüning, the daughter of a landowner, was supposed to devote herself to teaching, and even while attending the secondary school for girls in Lübeck, she felt a decided preference for music and singing.

Since it was generally felt that her voice was worthy of training, she went first to Berlin and then to Aglaja Orgeni in Dresden so that she could devote herself entirely to her studies. Good schooling and serious endeavors made it possible for her to make her debut at the Royal Opera House in Dresden as "Margarethe" on March 5, 1890, after having attended the Conservatory's Opera School from October 1880 to February 1890.

The success of her first public appearance was great and also reconciled the young artist's parents with her new career choice.

The fresh charm of her voice, her pleasant performance by the talented singer, also contributed to the fact that the audience was more and more appreciated and that the criticism also struck warmer tones.

Brüning, who enjoyed increasing recognition during her time at the court theater in the field of juvenile lyrical and coloratura soubrettes, was one of her most popular roles "Pamina", "Agathe", "Margarethe", "Ännchen", "Zerline", " Leonore "etc.

Since she left the Dresden stage in 1895, the artist has not accepted a permanent commitment and has taken up residence in Dresden.

Her stage activity ended in 1905, her further life is unknown.
