Maria Buchmayr (born May 10, 1970 in Linz ) is an Upper Austrian politician ( Greens ). She has been a member of the Upper Austrian State Parliament since 2009 .

education and profession

Buchmayr attended the elementary school in Dornach (Linz) from 1976 to 1980 and the integrated comprehensive school in Dornach until 1984. Then she moved to the higher federal college for economic professions in Auhof, which she graduated in 1989 with the Matura . Buchmayer then completed a degree in geography and regional research at the University of Vienna between 1989 and 1999 , which she completed with the academic degree Mag .

Buchmayr worked in mobile care for the elderly and the disabled between 1991 and 1992 and from 1999 to 2001 in the office for women's issues of the Upper Austrian regional government in Linz. She worked on the Women's Report Upper Austria, which was implemented by the Institute for Geography and Regional Research at the University of Vienna. In 2000 she worked for the Senior Citizens' Aid Association Junge Panther Wien, then between July 2003 and August 2003 she was a research assistant at the University of Linz . Buchmayr has been a board member of the Women's Health Center of the City of Linz since 2003 and in June 2003 took over the position of deputy head of the staff department for gender equality policy at the University of Linz. In addition, Buchmayr has been a board member of the ISI - Initiatives for Social Integration Association since 2008.

politics

Buchmayr has been chairwoman of the Green Women of Upper Austria since January 15, 2007. She was elected to the board of the Linz Greens in 2001 and was a councilor in Linz between 2003 and 2009 . In this function, she also held the position of a member of the supervisory board of NAVEG between 2003 and 2005. On October 23, 2009 Buchmayr was sworn in as a member of parliament. She is the area spokesperson for women, equality, human rights, culture, media and youth.

On April 6, 2019, she was succeeded by Stefan Kaineder as state spokesman for the Green Upper Austria .

Private

Buchmayr has a daughter (* 1993) and two sons (* 1994).
