The Maria Creek is a 800 m long glacial melt water flow in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Taylor Valley, it flows from the lower end of the Canada Glacier in a north-easterly direction to the western end of Lake Fryxell , which it reaches west of Bowles Creek and Green Creek .

It was named at the suggestion of the American hydrologist Diane Marie McKnight, head of the team of the United States Geological Survey (USGS), which examined the river system of Lake Fryxell between 1987 and 1994. The original name is the song They Called the Wind Maria from the musical Paint Your Wagon from 1951. McKnight alluded to the strong winds at the southern end of the Canada glacier during the Antarctic winter, which led to numerous drifts of fine sand along the Maria Creek.
