Maria Derflinger

Maria Derflinger (born April 10, 1930 in Steyr ) is a former Upper Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and a commercial clerk. Derflinger was a member of the Federal Council from 1979 to 1988 and a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag from 1988 to 1991 .

Life

Derflinger attended elementary school from 1936 and then secondary school and commercial school. Between 1947 and 1948 she worked as an office worker in the Steyr City Theater and from 1948 to 1985 she worked as a commercial clerk in the works council office of the Steyr-Werke. Her duties included activities as a secretary and subject manager.

In 1949 Derflinger joined the SPÖ, later she became a member of the district committee and the district party executive of the SPÖ Steyr. She was also deputy chairman and subsequently chairwoman of an SPÖ section in Steyr and, from 1978, a member of the state party executive of the SPÖ Upper Austria. In addition, she was a member of the district women's committee of the SPÖ Steyr and took over the chairmanship in 1971. In addition, she was a member of the women's committee of the SPÖ regional group Upper Austria and between 1972 and 1967 she was the parents' representative in the regional school board for Upper Austria.

She exercised her first political mandate between 1973 and 1979 as a councilor in Steyr. Afterwards she was a member of the Federal Council from October 25, 1979 to November 10, 1988 and was then a member of the Upper Austrian State Parliament between November 10, 1988 and October 29, 1991.
