Maria Funder

Maria Funder (* 1956 ) is a German sociologist . She is a professor at the Philipps University of Marburg , her areas of work are: economy, work, organization and gender.

Life

Maria Funder studied sociology at the University of Bielefeld from 1976 to 1982 and then worked there as a graduate sociologist until 1989. She then moved to the Ruhr University Bochum and received her doctorate from Bielefeld University in 1992 . From 1992 to 1998 she worked as a research assistant at the University of Bochum, where she completed her habilitation in sociology in 1998 . This was followed by a visiting professorship (1998–2000) at the University of Linz . After a nine-month substitute chair, Maria Funder was appointed university professor by the University of Marburg in November 2000.
