Maria Hilf (Valepp)

The Catholic mountain chapel Maria Hilf im Valepp (district of the Schliersee market ) was built in 1710 and is located at an altitude of 883 meters. The church is a monument and is included in the Bavarian list of monuments . The construction was supported and largely financed by the Scheyern Monastery . The mountain church stands on a raised meadow spur above the Valepp river valley near the border between Bavaria and Tyrol. The early baroque altar (1st half of the 17th century) of the mountain chapel, which was designed based on the model from the Michael Church in Munich , shows the miraculous image of Maria Hilf in its center . The mountain chapel has been the property of the Bavarian state since secularization . Parishly it belongs to the area of ​​the parish of St. Josef in Neuhaus .
