Maria José da Costa

Maria José da Costa is a politician from East Timor . She is a member of FRETILIN . From 2000 to 2001 she was the party's vice coordinator.

In the 2001 elections, Costa was elected to 24th place on the FRETILIN list in the Constituent Assembly, which became the National Parliament of East Timor when it became independent on May 20, 2002 . At the assembly, Costa became a member of Thematic Committee I and the Committee on Systematisation and Harmonization. In the parliamentary elections in East Timor in 2007 , Costa came 32nd on the FRETILIN list, but the party only received 21 of the 65 seats in parliament. In 2012 she no longer competed.
