Maria Queen (Lasbeck)
The Roman Catholic Church of Maria Königin is a church building on Komer 6 in Lasbeck , a district of Iserlohn in the Märkisches Kreis ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).
History and architecture
The concrete skeleton building with a hall , a tower and an adjoining room, each under a slate-covered pyramid roof , was built in 1964 under the direction of Günter Schulte. The building has a defiant effect. The wall panels made of quarry stone with the colored windows by Irmgart Wessel-Zumloh contrast with the smooth surfaces of the concrete frames and the rear walls of the altar. The concrete glass sheets behind the closely placed concrete posts of the tower are a work by Wilhelm Hausmann .
