Maria Máñez Costa

María Máñez Costa (born March 20, 1970 ) is a Spanish-German geographer and professor at GKSS Geesthacht .

Maria Máñez studied geography at the University of Giessen and received her doctorate in Agricultural Economy from the University of Göttingen . She later worked in Leeds, England and then as a consultant for the Mexican Parliament and the World Bank . Among other things, she carried out research at the University of Vigo in Spain.

In addition, she coordinates various EU projects on the subject of “Global change and ecological change”. Her work mostly revolves around the topic of water supply and climate change.

Further research topics are resistance research and the adaptation of social systems to environmental changes.

María Máñez Costa is married and has one child.
