Maria Schaffenrath

Maria Schaffenrath (born June 6, 1951 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian teacher and former politician ( LIF ). Schaffenrath was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1994 to 1999 .

Schaffenrath attended elementary school in Hall in Tirol and switched to the local secondary school from 1961 to 1965. She then graduated from the Innsbruck Commercial Academy by 1971. From 1971 to 1967 she held various commercial activities, some in a managerial position, and from 1978 to 1988 she was a vocational school teacher. In 1981 and 1982 she attended the Vocational Education Academy and completed a teacher training course for vocational schools. From 1989 Schaffenrath was a professor at the Innsbruck Vocational Education Academy, in 1994 she switched to politics and was decommissioned. She then resumed teaching and in 2003 was promoted to head of department at the Vocational Education Academy in Innsbruck, specializing in vocational schools. After the original head of the institute withdrew, she became head of the Institute for Vocational Education at the Tyrol University of Education in 2007. In 2012, she was replaced in this position by Regine Mathies.

Schaffenrath represented the Liberal Forum from November 7, 1994 to October 28, 1999 in the National Council. In the course of the National Council election in 2008, she again took on the role of LIF education and women's spokeswoman and was the top Tyrolean candidate for the Liberal Forum. Like the entire party, it failed in its entry into the National Council.
