history

The folk baroque structure was erected in the middle of the 18th century at the instigation of the owner of the Rožnov estate , Count Franz von Zierotin . The first Holy Mass was held on August 15, 1754. On August 21, 1754 the church was consecrated by the dean from Valašské Meziříčí . In 1755 a chaplain was installed in Karlovice under the parish priest of Rožnov. From 1784 Velké Karlovice formed an independent chaplain, which was elevated to a parish in 1843.

Building

The church has a cruciform floor plan with 24 corners. On the roof there is a baroque tower with two bells. The interior walls and benches were originally left in their natural state and were only painted with white oil paint at the end of the 19th century, which was renewed in 1928. The chandelier from 1892 is a gift from the Jew Salomon Reich, owner of the Mariánská huť glassworks in Leskové. In 1894 the original altar was replaced by the current one. In 1946 the church received electrical lighting.
