Coordinates: 47 ° 46 ′ 16.9 ″  N , 10 ° 30 ′ 57.7 ″  E The soul chapel on the Seelenberg near Unterthingau in the Ostallgäu district is a church built in 1704. The chapel is on the eastern edge of a on a moraine of the Würm built Burgstall east of Unterthingau.

The name Seelenberg goes back to the Middle High German seelin ("small lakes"), but was probably reinterpreted at an early stage and gave the chapel its name " Arme-Seelen -Kapelle".

In the chapel there is a six-column baroque altar from the time it was built. The altar panel shows purgatory and above it Mary and John the Baptist who intercede with Christ for the poor souls in purgatory.

The vault is painted with scenes from the life of Jesus. The pale frescoes were created around 1960 and come from the students of the Munich art professor Franz Nagel . The chapel is owned by the adjacent Funkenbauern and is located at "Höllweg 13".
