Mariam Mamadashvili ( Georgian : მარიამ მამადაშვილი; born November 16, 2005 in Tbilisi , Georgia ) is a young singer from Georgia. She won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 with the song Mzeo .

life and career

Mariam Mamadashvili was born on November 16, 2005 in Tbilisi. She started singing at the age of four. Since she was six, she studied at the Bzikebi Studio and the Evgeni Mikeladze State Central Music School in Tbilisi . At this point, she also appeared several times in public and on television. In 2015 she moved to the United States with her family. She lives in Fairfield, Connecticut and attends Tomlinson Middle School there. She is also studying at the Broadway Methodical Academy.

At the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Valletta , Mariam Mamadashvili represented Georgia with the song Mzeo (sun), which was written by Maka Davitaia and Giga Kukhianidze. She won with 239 points, seven points ahead of the second-placed participants from Armenia . This was the third win for Georgia in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, making the country the most successful in the competition.
