Mariame Clément

Mariame Clément (* 1974 in Paris ) is a French opera director.

Life

Mariame Clément studied literature and art history at the École normal supérieure from 1994 to 1997 and then worked as a lecturer at Harvard University . She volunteered and assisted in directing at the Berlin State Opera , the Opéra National de Montpellier and the Opéra du Rhin Strasbourg . In 2004 she had her first directorial assignment for Il signor Bruschino / Gianni Schicchi at the Opéra de Lausanne and has since worked as a director in various medium-sized theaters. In 2012 she staged the exhibition The Passions in the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden . In her productions, she regularly works with the set designer Julia Hansen, who in 2010 received the “Syndicat Professionnel de la Critique de France” award for the set for the Strasbourg platée production.

Clément is married and lives in Paris again after a stay in Berlin.
