Marian Hemar
Marian Hemar (born April 6, 1901 as Jan Marian Hescheles in Lemberg , Austria-Hungary ; died February 11, 1972 near London ; pseudonyms Jan Mariański and Marian Wallenrod ) was a Polish poet, journalist, satirist and comedy writer.
Life
From 1926 he was the resident author of the important satirical theater Qui-Pro-Quo in Warsaw and wrote skits for the radio. During the Second World War, the Polish Jew had to flee from the National Socialists in exile in London. He did not return to post-war communist Poland. In London he became the most important satirist in the Polish exile community.
He was a cousin of Stanisław Lem and uncle of Janina Altman .
