Marianne Mikko
Marianne Mikko (born September 26, 1961 in Võru ) is an Estonian politician and journalist. From 2004 to 2009 she was a member of the European Parliament .

Marianne Mikko graduated from the University of Tartu with a degree in journalism in 1984 . From 1984 to 1994 she worked as an editor for various newspapers and in 1992/93 as a freelance journalist in South Africa . From 1994 to 2004 she was a special correspondent, from 1994 to 2000 in Brussels . In 2003/2004 she was editor-in-chief of the monthly foreign and security policy journal Diplomaatia.

Marianne Mikko has been a member of the Estonian Social Democratic Party ( Eesti Sotsiaaldemokraatlik Erakond ) since 2002 . In 2004 she was elected to the European Parliament as an Estonian MP .
