Marianne Reussing , née Wedekind, or Wittekindt (born July 15, 1757 in Eisenach ; † 1831 there ; full name: Maria Jacobina Johanna Friederica Marianne ) was a German novelist .

Marianne was born in Eisenach on July 15, 1757 as the daughter of the town counsel and court lawyer Wedekind . She was married to the doctor and chief medical officer Heinrich Christian Theodor Reussing, known in Eisenach . Through her friendship with Eleonore Röder (1753–1807), later married Privy Councilor Thon, and her dealings with often older people and relatives, she came into contact with the different circumstances and attitudes earlier than usual. In addition to collecting letters from friends, Reussing also began to write down his own comments and feelings. The misfortune of a close relative caused them to bring the individual leaves into a whole in order to support the affected person with the yield. This is how the novel Karl Strube came about . She continued to limit her happiness to domestic life and friendships.
