Heinrich Christian Theodor Reussing , or Reussing (born October 13, 1767 in Tiefenort , † October 8, 1846 (probably) in Eisenach ) was a German physician in Eisenach.

Reussing was born on October 13, 1767 in Tiefenort, where his father Heinrich Adam Reussing held the law office. At a young age he came from his parents' house as a foster child to his godfather, the land militia captain and rentier Leo zu Tiefenort. Reussing developed an inclination for the natural sciences at an early age and in 1787, after completing his training at the Eisenach grammar school, he began studying medicine at the University of Jena . He completed his studies in Dresden , where he attended the clinic, and received his doctorate on July 30, 1791. After a short stay in Peine from the winter of 1791, Reussing moved back to his place of birth, where he took up physics in autumn 1792 . He quickly gained a very good reputation and was also consulted on cases outside of his physics department.

Around 1800 Reussing became a general practitioner for the Landgrave von Philippsthal's family, to whom he was devoted as a friend until his death. As a result, the Landgrave of Philippsthal awarded him the title Hofrath . In 1814 he followed the government's request and took the position of city physician in Eisenach. His greatest contribution to the city of Eisenach was the establishment of a midwifery school in 1816, of which he was always director. In the following years, his activities were increasingly used. He worked as a family doctor for the Grand Duke of Weimar and the Landgrave of Hesse-Philippsthal-Barchfeld . On March 9, 1819, the Grand Duke of Weimar Reussing conferred the title of Senior Medical Councilor with a seat and vote at the regional directorate in Eisenach. In 1827 he took over the office of rural physician and became director of the newly built hospital in Eisenach. On his 50th anniversary with his doctorate, Reussing received both awards and a doctoral degree from the University of Jena. In the following time his health deteriorated and he died after a long suffering on October 8th, 1846.

In 1793 Reussing married the novelist Marianne Reussing (1757–1831) from Eisenach.
