Mariano Martí
Mariano Martí (born December 14, 1720 in Bráfim , Tarragona , † February 20, 1792 in Caracas ) was a Spanish bishop in Venezuela during the colonial period.
He was appointed Bishop of Puerto Rico on May 24, 1761 . He was ordained episcopal on January 17th of the following year by the Bishop of Caracas , Diego Antonio Díez Madroñero .
On January 29, 1770 he was appointed Bishop of Caracas. Martí traveled throughout Venezuela between 1771 and 1784. During this time he wrote an extensive work on Venezuelan society.
