Marie Bertholdt

Marie Bertholdt (born March 26, 1995 in Starnberg ) is an American - German basketball player .

career

Bertholdt's mother Stephanie Pfeiffer was a national basketball player, his father Jörg Bertholdt played for the national volleyball team in Germany. She grew up in the United States , where the family had emigrated and the father got into computing . Bertholdt played basketball at Alameda High School in the state of California and then at Santa Clara University from 2013 to 2017 while studying marketing . The 1.83-meter-long wing and inside player scored 11.3 points per game for Santa Clara in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 game years.

In the summer break of 2017 she was signed by the German Bundesliga club BC Marburg . She moved into the final of the European club competition CEWL with the Hessians in 2018, but lost to the Romanian representative CSM Satu Mare. Bertholdt, who was promoted to captain in Marburg, played her first A international match for Germany in the European championship elimination in November 2017. In November 2019, Bertholdt contracted a cruciate ligament in his left knee.
