Marie Charlotte Neviandt (born October 4, 1826 Vaals , Netherlands; † March 3, 1889 in Elberfeld ) was the wife of the free church theologian Heinrich Neviandt .

biography

Born Charlotte Binterim, she married Heinrich Neviandt on May 12, 1857, pastor of the first Free Evangelical Congregation in Germany and later President of the Federation of Free Evangelical Congregations . Due to her talent for languages ​​she was able to translate the works of Auguste Rochat, Adolphe Monod and Alexandre Vinet into German. Through these books, the ideas of the Free Church became widely known in Germany. She remained childless with her husband Heinrich Neviandt, but was considered the “mother of the community” in the Barmen-Elberfeld community.
