Marie Kabrhelová

Marie Kabrhelová (birth name: Marie Karásková ; born May 4, 1925 in Opatov u Jihlavy , Okres Jihlava , Kraj Vysočina ) is a former Czechoslovak politician of the Communist Party KSČ ( Komunistická strana Československa ) .

Life

Marie Kabrhelová was one of five children of a tailor and worked as a seamstress in her father's shop. After joining the Communist Party KSČ ( Komunistická strana Československa ) she became a party functionary in Jihlava in 1946 and moved to Prague in February 1948 . In 1966 she graduated from the party college and was a member of the conservative party wing during the Prague Spring . In May 1970 she became a member of the Presidium of the Czechoslovak Women's Union ČSSŽ (Československý svaz žen) and was a member of this until December 1989. She was also a member of the board of directors and the secretariat of the Central Council of Trade Unions (Ústřední rada odborů) of the Revolutionary Trade Union Movement ROH (Revoluční odborové hnutí) between 1971 and 1974 . In April 1974 she took over the position of chairwoman of the women's union ČSSŽ as the successor to Gusta Fučíková and she also held this position until December 1989. In December 1974 she also became a member of the Presidium of the National Front (Národní fronta Čechů a Slováků) , which as an umbrella organization conveyed party politics in parties and mass organizations, nominated candidates for national and local elections and supervised the conduct of the elections. In 1974 she also became a member of the World Peace Council .

On the XV. At the 7th party congress (April 12-16, 1976), Marie Kabrhelová was elected a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the KSČ and belonged to this body until October 1989. At the same time she also became a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and belonged to this body until October 1989 and was there since the XVI. On October 23, 1976 she also became a member of the Federation Assembly (Federální shromáždění) and was a member of the Chamber of the People (Sněmovna národů) until December 19, 1989. She has received several awards and received, among others, the Order of Labor (Řád práce) in 1973 , the Order of Victorious February ((ád Vítězného února) in 1975 and the Order of the Republic (Řád republiky) in 1985 .

In February 1990 she was expelled from the Communist Party.
