Marie Munzinger

Marie "Mizzi" Munzinger (born April 10, 1885 in Tisza Földvar ; † July 4, 1952 in São Paulo ) was a Swiss author of teaching materials.

Life

Munzinger was born in Tisza Földvar, Hungary, as the daughter of a Swiss engineer and a German mother. Around 1891 the family returned to their father's hometown in Olten ( Switzerland ). Marie completed the teacher training at the seminar in Aarau. She then left Switzerland in 1906 and traveled to China, where she worked for about a year in the industrial city of Hanyang as an educator in a European family. After several months in Russia, she returned to Olten in 1907. Here she worked for several years as a primary and music teacher. In the autumn of 1919 she emigrated to Brazil, where she not only taught, but also worked as an author and illustrator in the creation of several teaching materials (English and French).
