Marie Osborne , better known as Baby Marie ; actually Helen Alice Myres , (born November 5, 1911 in Denver , Colorado , † November 11, 2010 in San Clemente , California ) was an American film actress .

Life

childhood

Osborne was born as Helen Alice Myres. Shortly after her birth, she came to foster parents ; these changed the girl's first name. In 1914 the family moved to California. Her parents got work in the film industry.

Career

When looking for a little boy for a film, they became aware of Marie, who at the time wore bobbed hair . As Baby Marie , she starred in 29 films until 1919. From 1934 to 1949 she played mostly extras . She then worked as a costume designer for various productions. In 1976 she retired.

Private

Marie Osborne was married to Frank J. Dempsey from 1931 to 1936. This marriage ended in divorce. In 1945 she married Murray F. Yates, who died in 1975. She had a daughter named Joan and five grandchildren. Most recently she lived with her family in San Clemente, California, where she died a few days after her 99th birthday.
