Marie Schmelzkopf

Marie Sophie Josephine Schmelzkopf , née Biß , (born February 26, 1887 in Neumünster ; † November 11, 1966 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Schmelzkopf was a housewife by profession. She joined the SPD in 1908 and belonged to the trade union movement. From 1929 she was city councilor of the SPD in Neumünster and again after the Second World War from 1945 to 1958. From February 26 to November 11, 1946, she was a member of the first appointed state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . There she sat on the Committee for People's Welfare and the Disaster Response Committee.
