Marieke Spaans
Marieke Spaans (* 1972 in Amsterdam , Netherlands ) is a Dutch harpsichordist living in Germany.
Life
Marieke Spaans has been playing the harpsichord since she was 8 years old . She studied harpsichord with Gustav Leonhardt at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, later also organ and fortepiano . She taught from 1994 to 2000 at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and from 1997 to 2000 at the Rotterdam Conservatorium . Since 2004 she has been a professor for historical keyboard instruments at the Trossingen University of Music . In April 2019, she was elected Vice-Rector of the university for a four-year term.
She regularly gives concerts, sometimes together with her husband, the violinist Anton Steck .
